How It Works
Estate Sales
Our in-home estate sales are professionally managed from start to finish. Here's what you can expect:
- No prep needed — Don't lift a finger. Once we've contracted with you, our team handles all sorting, washing, tagging, pricing, and displaying of items in your home.
- Expert valuation — We provide professional analysis of everyday items as well as rare and unusual pieces. If something requires further investigation, we tap into our network of seasoned buyers, dealers, and experts in collectibles, fine art, and more to determine accurate resale value.
- Professional advertising — We handle all marketing including online listings, social media promotion, email newsletters, local advertising, and road signs to attract the right buyers.
- Flexible sale duration — Sales can run one or more days depending on the size of your estate.
- Transparent discounting — Items are priced based on fair market value. Any discount tiers are discussed and agreed upon in your service contract upfront.
- Leftover items — At the end of the sale, we work with you on next steps — whether that's donating to local charities, boxing and dropping off items, or other arrangements.
Auctions
Auctions are one of several paths an item may take — not every item goes to auction. Some pieces require additional research and investigation before we determine the best selling strategy. Our team will assess each item individually and recommend the most appropriate route to maximize your return.
For items that are well-suited to competitive bidding, our managed auction services include:
- Live online & timed auctions — Reach bidders from across Canada and potentially the USA, depending on the venue and item.
- Detailed previews — Every auction includes thorough item descriptions, photographs, and estimated values so bidders can make informed decisions.
- Reserve pricing — For select items, a minimum reserve price can be set to protect your interests. This is discussed on an item-by-item basis.
- After the auction — Winning bidders pay and local pickups are promptly scheduled. Unsold items can be re-auctioned, returned, discounted, or donated — all outlined in your contract.
